Should I have video on my website?

Yes - If you have videos to share, you should. If you don't have videos to share, you might find videos of relevance to your industry on sites like youtube.com. For example, if you sell wakeboards, you might find some wakeboarding videos.

What kind of video content should i have on my website?

Obviously the videos should be relevant to your website. Either specifically about your products, your staff, your customer testimonials or videos of interest about your industry.

Typically they should be short, as web surfers don't like to waste their time, try to avoid opening credits and long boring introductions. Cut to the chase, demo the product, show people how to use it, edit the testimonials to show the best bits up front.

How can i monetise the use of video?

Ensure the end of the video has a call to action. You can't always have a clickable link, so make sure it is a great big link that is easy to read, remember, and short enough to type into a webbrowser to visit your website.

Make use of the meta data around your video. Use as many keywords as possible in the descriptive text of your video. Comment on your videos with more keyword text. All this text will help strangers find your videos more easily.
